FSB declines to comment on reported search at senior customs officer's workplace

ST. PETERSBURG. March 6 (Interfax) - The Russian Federal Security Service's (FSB) branch for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region has declined to comment on media reports that a search was conducted at the office of the deputy director of the Northwestern Customs Department, Alexander Bezlyudsky.

"The press service of the Russian FSB branch for the city of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region refuses to comment on reports about a search at the Northwestern Customs Department," a regional FSB spokesperson said.

According to reports, officers of the local FSB branch searched the office of Maj. Gen. Bezlyudsky, allegedly in connection with a customs duty evasion case.
