Russia has lot to do for gender equality - Putin
SAMARA. March 7 (Interfax) - Russia still needs to do a lot to eliminate differences in the rights of men and women, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"We talk about the need for the equal rights of men and women on all tracks all the time. And it was also said here that women's lives are harder. Indeed, there is such an approach and understanding that today's world, the world in general, is a man's world. And it is the reverse side of the medal of equality or inequality of rights. In this regard, we still have to do a lot to ensure that there are no differences in rights," Putin said during a meeting with businesswomen on Wednesday.
"But still there are some values in our cultural code that I believe are fundamental to us: our women remain women and men remain men. Thank God, we do not have such a mixture of concepts in our heads, in our souls, and in our cultural code," Putin said.
Women undoubtedly have many advantages, including charm, beauty, and soulfulness, he said. "That is what men have treasured and will always treasure," Putin said.
