Russia, Ethiopia plan to sign intergovernmental accord on military-technical cooperation - Lavrov
ADDIS ABABA. March 9 (Interfax) - Russia and Ethiopia are preparing to sign a number of intergovernmental agreements, including an accord on military-technical cooperation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said during a visit to Ethiopia.
"We also discussed the course of our interaction as part of military-technical cooperation," Lavrov said at a press conference after talks with Ethiopia's Foreign Minister Workneh Gebeyehu on Friday.
"Additional intergovernmental agreements and memorandums are being prepared in all of the abovementioned areas. They are intended to further bolster the legal foundation of contracts in these spheres," he said.
The two countries also see the need to boost their trade and economic cooperation, the minister said. Other avenues of bilateral interaction including nuclear power and hydropower technologies, geological exploration and air traffic, he said.
