Russian defense plants to supply troops with advanced strategic weapons on time - Manturov
MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax-AVN) - Industrial enterprises stand ready to timely supply the military with state-of-the-art weapons which, as Russian President Vladimir Putin said, were created, Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov told Interfax.
"Industrial enterprises are fulfilling the Defense Ministry's tasks to manufacture and ship military hardware with quality and on time. All of the state contracts for new weapons will be also executed according to the schedule," Manturov said, when answering a question from Interfax about the deadlines of shipping advanced strategic weapons to the troops.
"Owing to modernizing defense enterprises, the state defense order is being timely fulfilled today, and we are ready to accomplish the tasks of the new state armament program [by 2027]," the minister said.
Current shipments of military hardware and weapons to the troops are approaching 100%, he said.
"Now we are less dependent on foreign supplies, as work on import substitution programs for military hardware and its parts yielded a certain result," Manturov said.
