Russia sticking to plans to ban Belarusian milk imports from March 15, but talks ongoing - AgMin

UFA. March 13 (Interfax) - Russia is sticking to plans to impose a ban on the import of certain types of milk products from Belarus, but talks with Belarus are ongoing.

"Several restrictions are planned, in particular, on imports of powdered milk. But we are having a specific dialogue with the Belarusian side today, we are at the negotiation stage, finalizing positions, including with veterinary agencies," Deputy Agriculture Minister Ivan Lebedev told Interfax on Tuesday.

"So far, we have managed to reach protocol decisions that we established at the Russian Agricultural Ministry. But some of the issues are still being negotiated," he said.

Lebedev confirmed that this concerned restrictions that are due to be imposed on March 15 this year.
