Avtotor exports first lot of Hyundai cars to Belarus
KALININGRAD. March 13 (Interfax) - Avtotor Group has begun exporting Hyundai cars to Belarus, the company reported.
The first lot of cars produced at Avtotor's plant in Kaliningrad was delivered to a Hyundai distributor in Belarus at the beginning of March. The shipment included Santa Fe Premium and Elantra cars.
Avtotor began exporting at the end of 2017, shipping a lot of Hyundai HD78 light commercial vehicles to Belarus. The company said it planned to expand the model lineup of exports and increase their numbers.
Avtotor, founded in 1994, began producing vehicles in 1997. It currently produces about 30 BMW, Kia, Hyundai, TATA Daewoo and FAW. Production rose 53.2% to 144,561 units in 2017 and is expected to increase another 30%-45% this year.
