Ferrexpo cuts iron ore pellet output 3.8% in 2M
KYIV. March 15 (Interfax) - Ferrexpo plc, whose main assets are Ukrainian iron ore producers Poltava and Yeristovo mining and processing plants, reduced commercial iron ore pellet production 3.8% year-on-year in January-February to 1.675 million tonnes, the company told Interfax.
Iron ore concentrate production fell 6.4% to 2.019 million tonnes.
In February alone Ferrexpo produced 771,000 tonnes of pellets, compared to 905,000 tonnes in January, and 926,000 tonnes of concentrate, compared to 1.093 million tonnes.
Pellet output fell 6.8% in 2017 to 10.444 million tonnes.
The London-listed Ferrexpo plc owns 100% of Ferrexpo AG, which owns Poltava Mining and Yeristovo Mining. Ferrexpo's main customers are steelmakers in Austria, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Germany, China, India, Japan and South Korea.
