Kyiv wants int'l organizations to monitor all stages of captives' release
KYIV. March 15 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian side of the Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine (TCG) insists on the comprehensive monitoring by relevant international organizations of every stage of the release of captives, Darka Olifer, a spokeswoman for Ukraine's second president, Leonid Kuchma, who represents the country in the TCG, said.
"Work on the release of hostages continues. In the meantime, we insist that relevant international organizations carefully monitor everything that happens at all stages of these people's release. First and foremost, this means their unhindered access to the illegally detained persons," Olifer wrote on her Facebook page.
In addition, it is necessary to unblock the implementation of an important humanitarian initiative on the creation of a trilateral mechanism for searching for missing persons involving Ukraine, Russia, and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), she wrote.
