Russian jets perform 7 flights over week to intercept foreign recon planes near Russian border - Defense Ministry
MOSCOW. March 16 (Interfax-AVN) - Russian fighter jets performed seven flights over the past week to intercept foreign reconnaissance planes near Russian borders, according to an infographic report published in the Defense Ministry's newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda.
Twenty-two foreign reconnaissance planes were seen flying near the Russian border, and fighter jets of standby air defense forces performed seven flights to intercept and escort those aircraft, the report said.
"Violations of Russian airspace were not allowed to happen," it said.
