Presidential campaign was transparent - Matviyenko
MOSCOW. March 19 (Interfax) - The current presidential campaign had no parallels in terms of its transparency, Federation Council speaker Valentina Matviyenko said.
"This is an unparalleled campaign from the point of view of transparency and openness of the elections," Matviyenko said on the air of Channel 1 television channel.
Russian legislators did everything to eradicate any loophole for falsifying the election, she said.
"We got rid of absentee ballots, we gave every voter an opportunity to vote where it is comfortable for him, not the place of living but the place of presence, at the same time it was impossible to count every voter's vote more than once. It is impossible to make any falsification here," she said.
She also pointed at a swift reaction of the Russian Central Elections Commission to any complaint about violations.
