Galushka to head Russian delegation to Russia-N.Korea intergovt commission meeting in Pyongyang on March 21-22
VLADIVOSTOK. March 20 (Interfax) - Russia's Far East Development Minister Alexander Galushka will attend the eighth meeting of the Russian-North Korean intergovernmental commission for trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation in Pyongyang on March 21-22, Far East Development Ministry's press service said.
At the upcoming event, Galushka will lead a Russian delegation, which includes representatives of 11 federal agencies. North Korea's delegation to the meeting will be headed by Minister of External Economic Affairs Kim Yong Jae.
The parties intend to discuss different issues concerning bilateral cooperation, including contacts in transport, the energy sector, industry, agriculture, fisheries, education, science, and technologies.
"The Russian Federation is a responsible participant in international activities. Therefore, trade and economic ties with the DPRK [Democratic People's Republic of Korea] will be discussed with the framework established by the UN Security Council," the ministry's press service quoted Galushka as saying.
During his visit to Pyongyang, Galushka will also hold a series of meeting with members of the North Korean government.
The Russian-North Korean intergovernmental commission for trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation was established in 2014.
