Over 113,000 people leave Eastern Ghouta since beginning of 'humanitarian pauses' - center for reconciliation
EASTERN GHOUTA (Syria). March 26 (Interfax-AVN) - A total of 1,092 civilians left the city of Douma through the humanitarian corridor in the populated area of Muhayam al-Wafedin on Sunday, the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides told Interfax-AVN on Monday.
"A total of 113,715 people have left Eastern Ghouta with assistance from the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides since the beginning of the 'humanitarian pauses,'" the center said.
"Civilians' return to the populated areas of Saqba and Kafr Batna, Eastern Ghouta, which have liberated from militants, and the provision to them of humanitarian and medical assistance organized by the Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides are continuing," the center said.
"The Russian military from the center organized the delivery and distribution of bottled drinking water, sleeping provisions, and 1,000 food packages and individual food rations, and 1,300 hot meals in the populated area of Muhayam al-Wafedin were cooked" on Sunday, the center said.
