Lavrov suggests stepping up dialogue with foreign public community amid tightening anti-Russian campaign
MOSCOW. March 26 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has stressed the importance of expanding the dialogue with the public community in foreign countries amid tightening anti-Russian campaign.
"Today, all of us witness strengthening anti-Russian campaign, the constant desire to discredit Russia, its domestic and foreign policy. And in these conditions the work to step up the dialogue with the broad foreign public community in order to bring the truth in our contacts with foreign colleagues is definitely becoming particularly significant," the minister said at a meeting of the Gorchakov Foundation Trustee Board on Monday.
Direct people-to-people ties, non-politicized discussions and various educational projects "are promoting the maintenance of trust, mutual understanding in interstate relations," the minister said.
Lavrov emphasized the Gorchakov Foundation's contribution in this kind of activity.
