Investigation to demand arrest of 5 suspects in Kemerovo fire probe - Russian Investigative Committee
MOSCOW. March 27 (Interfax) - The Russian Investigative Committee will ask a court in Kemerovo to arrest five suspects as part of a criminal inquiry opened into the March 25 fire at the city's Winter Cherry (Zimnyaya Vishnya) shopping center, the committee press service said.
"In the near future, they will be convoyed to the court where a restraining measure will be chosen for them," the press service said on the Russian Investigative Committee's channel on Telegram (messaging service).
It was reported earlier that five suspects had been detained as part of the inquiry. They include the technical director of the landlord, the tenant of the premises where the fire allegedly started, an employee and the head of the company servicing the fire alarm system, and the security guard who failed to raise the fire alarm when the fire broke out.
