Russia fulfills security requirements in flights over Baltics - Bondarev
MOSCOW. March 29 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia closely observes all security requirements when its planes fly over the Baltics, Viktor Bondarev, the head of the Federation Council Defense and Security Committee, said on Thursday.
"Since 2017, all of our planes have been flying with their transponders on. If they do special flights, they are escorted by other planes with transponders on," he said at a briefing of military attaches accredited in Moscow.
"Russia flies with transponders on or escorts those who do not have them. But the NATO countries are ignoring that. Only Russia has resolved this problem," Bondarev said.
"The main thing is trust. That applies to both air and sea," he said.
