LPR militia guarantees observance of Easter Truce in Donbas - defense spokesman
LUHANSK. March 30 (Interfax) - The self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic's militia is welcoming the introduction of the so-called Easter Truce along the contact line in Donbas from March 30, LPR militia spokesman Andrei Marochko told reporters on Friday.
"We are welcoming the decision of the Ukrainian side to introduce the Easter Truce in Donbas today, on March 30. On my behalf, I declare that the Popular Militia of the Luhansk People's Republic guarantees that the truce will be observed," Marochko said.
Marochko also called on Ukraine's military chiefs to order their army to cease fire along the contact line in Donbas.
"Give appropriate instructions to your servicemen to refrain from opening fire at the civilian population of the Luhansk People's Republic. Meet your obligations under the Minsk agreements and the conditions of the truce established," Marochko said.
