Talk of electing Kemerovo region's new governor premature - envoy

KEMEROVO. April 2 (Interfax) - It is premature to raise the question of electing a new governor of the Kemerovo region, Russian Presidential Envoy to the Siberian Federal District Sergei Menyailo told reporters on Monday.

"It's too early to talk about elections. The task of the acting governor now is to work for the good of the people," Menyailo said.

The Kemerovo region's acting governor, Sergei Tsivilyev said he intends to continue working on the basis of the current team.

"These are good people. If we don't have enough competencies, we will invite specialists form other regions for a short period of time," he said.
