Kremlin not to intervene in abolition of direct mayoral elections in Yekaterinburg - Peskov
MOSCOW. April 3 (Interfax) - The Kremlin cannot intervene in the decision by the Yekaterinburg city legislature to abolish mayoral elections via popular vote, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"This is fully a prerogative of the local Legislative Assembly, and therefore we cannot either intervene or comment on this," Peskov told journalists on Tuesday.
