Miratorg boosts beef production almost 40% in Q1

VORONEZH. April 3 (Interfax) - Miratorg Agroholding produced 22,200 tonnes of beef in January-March 2018, a 38% increase on Q1 2017, the company's press service said.

"The rise in production was driven by an increase in the cattle population and the launch of new livestock farms. Our efforts are now aimed at increasing the efficiency of existing production; we are increasing capacity according to our plan and are launching new production lines using cutting-edge technologies and will present completely new meat products in line with consumer tastes," the statement said.

Miratorg is implementing a long-term strategy to increase domestic production of high-quality meat in a vertically integrated "from field to store" business-model. Miratorg has 87 farms in Bryansk, Kaluga, Oryol, Smolensk, Tula and Kaliningrad regions holding over 500,000 cattle, operates two grain feed facilities and a slaughtering and processing plant with capacity for 130,000 tonnes of meat products.
