Iran to broaden economic cooperation with Azerbaijan, Russia - Zarif

BAKU. April 5 (Interfax) - Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif has indicated Tehran's interest in economic cooperation with countries of the region, including Azerbaijan and Russia.

"Iran has close contacts with Azerbaijan, Russia, Georgia, and Turkey. We are pleased with their level and intend to deepen them. All countries of the region are interested in economic cooperation. Peace in the region will also be good for all countries, and we are working on it," Zarif told reporters in Baku on Thursday.

The level of bilateral cooperation with Azerbaijan is high, Zarif said. "We [Iran and Azerbaijan] are implementing crucial projects: the joint development of fields in the Caspian Sea, the creation of the North-South and South-West corridors, and others," he said.
