Russian Security Council seeks to improve efficiency of utilization of funds for border equipment - Patrushev

MOSCOW. April 6 (Interfax) - The Russian State Border Commission should improve the efficiency of its work, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said.

"It is necessary to improve the efficiency of the State Border Commission led by Deputy Prime Minister [Dmitry] Rogozin. A lot of work has been done in this respect, but, among other things, we talked about ways to improve the efficiency with which the financing allocated by the state has been utilized," Patrushev told journalists following a Russian Security Council session on Friday.

Amongst other issues, the participants addressed the equipment and fortification of the Russian borders.

"Even though not all of our borders have been equipped, not all funds allotted have been spent," Patrushev said.

A lot of work has yet to be done in this respect, he said.

"I think the State Border Commission will do this successfully," he said.
