Baku denies Yerevan's claims of truce breaches, says ready for tough response to provocations

BAKU. April 9 (Interfax) - The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry has denied Yerevan's reports of ceasefire violations on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.

"The Azerbaijani army is fully observing the ceasefire on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border. The information spread by the Armenian side is not true. In this way, the Armenian side is laying the groundwork for future provocations," the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said in a statement.

It is possible that "such misinformation will be spreading for a long time," it said.

"The Defense Ministry has announced that Armenia's provocations will be resolutely suppressed and the response will be immediate, tough, and devastating," the statement said.

Armenian media reported earlier, citing Armenian officials, that Azerbaijan had violated the ceasefire on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border in the sector of Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the Gazakh and Tovuz districts on April 8-9.
