Russian embassy to UK asks Foreign Office to provide details of intercept of secret message to Moscow shortly after Skripal poisoning

MOSCOW. April 9 (Interfax) - Russia has requested London's explanations over reports that Britain intercepted a secret message sent to Moscow shortly after the poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripals, the Russian embassy in London said on Monday.

"Great (leaked) story of interception. We have requested confirmation and more details from the Foreign Office," the embassy wrote on Twitter.

Earlier the British media reported that Britain managed to intercept a secret message, which read "The package has been delivered" and was sent from Syria to Moscow shortly after the poisoning of Skripal and his daughter in Salisbury. The reports said that this information was shared with Britain's allies before several dozen Western countries expelled a large number of Russian diplomats.
