Syrian air defenses intercept all missiles fired at Al-Dumayr airfield - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax-AVN) - Syria's air defense forces intercepted all 12 cruise missiles launched by the Western coalition on the Al-Dumayr military airfield near Damascus, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"The Syrian military airfield Al-Dumayr, located east of the city of Damascus, was attacked by 12 cruise missiles. The air defenses of the Syrian armed forces intercepted all of these cruise missiles," the ministry said.

Syria's air defense systems S-125, S-200, Buk and Kvadrat were used to repel the missile strike on the Al-Dumayr airfield, it said.

"These air defense systems were manufactured in the Soviet Union more than 30 years ago," the ministry said.
