U.S. strike to improve terrorists' positions, may derail peace process - Russian senator
MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - The strike of the United States and its allies on Syria will improve the positions of terrorists and will complicate the peaceful settlement process in Syria, Russian Federation Council member Frants Klintsevich said.
"It is absolutely apparent that the unprovoked attack on the sovereign country that is really countering terrorists will improve their positions, and will significantly complicate the peaceful settlement process in Syria, if not derail it," Klintsevich's press service quoted him as saying.
It is international terrorist that will benefit from the strikes, he said. "The actions of the allies have postponed theirs [terrorists'] final defeat for months, if not years," he said.
The most important thing is to remain calm in the current situation, he said. "The whole world should see that unlike the allies Russia is worrying about the security of our planet rather than the satisfying its ambitions," Klintsevich said.
