Tajik, N.Korean FMs discuss bilateral cooperation, int'l issues
DUSHANBE. April 14 (Interfax) - Tajikistan is committed to the peaceful resolution of the Korean Peninsula problems and to ensuring peace and stability in the region, Tajik Foreign Minister Sirodjidin Aslov said at a meeting with North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho.
The two ministers discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and North Korea, including regional and international issues, the Tajik Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.
"It was stated at the talks that Tajikistan understands the aspiration of North Korea to protect its interests within the framework of the international law. At the same time it was stressed that it is important and necessary to strictly comply with the relevant resolution of the UN Security Council on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula," the statement said.
