Al-Assad ready to give Russian companies preferences in Syria rebuilding - Turchak
MOSCOW. April 18 (Interfax) - It will take 10-15 years and at least $400 billion to rebuild Syria, Russian Federation Council deputy speaker Andrei Turchak said following a visit to Damascus, citing Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's estimations.
"A meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad took place on Sunday. The president reaffirmed his readiness to create all the necessary preferences for Russian companies that will participate in the rebuilding of the country's infrastructure. According to his estimates, it will take ten to 15 years and at least $400 billion to rebuild Syria," Turchak said in the Federation Council on Wednesday.
"Al-Assad said he is ready to move in the direction of a multi-party parliament and hopes for our parliamentary experience here," Turchak said.
