No analogues of Russia's S-400 system in world - FSMTC head
ANTALYA (Turkey). April 25 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia's S-400 air defense missile system is far better than the United States' Patriot, the head of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), Dmitry Shugayev, told Interfax in an interview.
"Even foreign experts believe there are no analogues of Russia's S-400 system in the world. It would not be quite right to compare it to other anti-aircraft missile systems and complexes, including the United States' Patriot, because S-400 surpasses the latter by quality, just like it is superior to anything else," Shugayev said.
"S-400 has an indisputable advantage by a whole range of parameters," he said.
S-400 gets activated much more rapidly, it can trace and destroy targets flying from every direction, and operates in any climate, Shugayev said.
"The S-400 Triumf air-defense missile system was designed to destroy all types of modern air attack means. It can hit aerodynamic targets within a range of 400 kilometers and tactical ballistic targets within a range of 60 kilometers. It can also destroy targets flying at a low altitude of up to five meters," he said.
The Eurasia Airshow-2018 international exhibition opens in Antalya, Turkey, on Wednesday.
