Armenia's acting sports minister resigns, joins protest against current administration
YEREVAN. April 25 (Interfax) - Armenia's acting sports and youth minister Grachya Rostomyan has resigned.
"Realizing the importance of the moment and the responsibility of every citizen, I am announcing my resignation. Being a supporter of the party Prosperous Armenia, I support the call of the party's leader Gagik Tsarukyan for nationwide mobilization and I am personally joining the protests," Rostomyan told Interfax.
A massive protest organized by supporters of opposition deputy Nikol Pashinyan, who demanded the removal from power of all members of the ruling Republican Party, is now taking place in Yerevan. Police and hardware have been moved to the center of the city.
