Kremlin does not know if Trump, Merkel discuss harm done by U.S. sanctions to European business
MOSCOW. April 28 (Interfax) - The Kremlin does not know whether U.S. President Donald Trump and German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel have discussed the harm U.S. sanctions against Russia could do to European business at their meeting, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Saturday.
"No, we rely on the statements made after that meeting, just like anybody else. We have not received any additional information," Peskov said in response to the question if Trump and Merkel had considered possible damage to European business.
The Kremlin is well aware of the statements made by officials in Germany and other European countries, as well as by big European business that the U.S. sanctions policy must not put European business interests in harm's way, Peskov said.
