EU court rejects Naftogaz lawsuit over Opal
KYIV. May 2 (Interfax) - The General Court of the European Union has rejected Naftogaz Ukrainy's lawsuit concerning the Opal gas pipeline, the company's press service said.
"The EU General Court on March 9, 2018 rejected, on inadmissibility grounds, the lawsuit filed against the European Commission containing the petition to cancel the decision of October 28, 2016. The court found that, among other things, the EC decision to exempt the Opal gas pipeline from some of the Third Energy Package rules was not final but had to be implemented at the level of national measures and therefore, may not be contested before this court," the press service said.
The court has also dismissed the claim of Poland's PGNiG over Opal, Naftogaz added.
"There is also the lawsuit filed by Poland against the European Commission on the matter and there is no judgment issued in the case yet," Naftogaz said.
