Medvedev nominates ex-deputy govt chief of staff Akimov as deputy PM
MOSCOW. May 7 (Interfax) - Russian Acting Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has proposed nominating Maxim Akimov, who previously served as first deputy chief of staff in the government, as Deputy Prime Minister.
"There are also other ideas, in particular on issues concerning the development of transport, communications and digital economy. There are proposals to appoint - perhaps someone less familiar for you, although many of you have already known him for quite a long time; you met [him] in the government administration one way or another - Maxim Alexeyevich Akimov," Medvedev told the United Russia faction in State Duma on Monday.
