Russia reduces electricity exports 5.5% to 3.64 bln kWh in Q1 - customs

MOSCOW. May 8 (Interfax) - Russia exported 3.64 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity in January-March 2018, 5.5% less than in the same period last year, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) said.

In value terms, the exports totaled $144.6 million, 15% more.

Russia exported 1.2 billion kWh (worth $50.3 million) in March alone, 13.1% more than in February 2018.

Electricity imports increased 69.1% to 1.94 billion kWh ($33.5 million) in Q1, including 713.4 million kWh ($12 million) in March, 18.1% more.

Inter RAO is the operator for Russia's electricity imports and exports.
