FBI to investigate illegal withdrawal of funds from Armenia to U.S. - newspaper

YEREVAN. May 8 (Interfax) - A delegation of investigators from the United States' Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will visit Armenia within the next few days, the Armenian newspaper Jamanak reported on Tuesday.

"According to our information, the group will examine instances of illegal withdrawal of capital from Armenia. The investigators will focus on Armenian oligarchs and officials who have taken their illegal proceeds to the U.S. and tried to legalize them there by purchasing real estate or setting up businesses," it said.
