U.S. envoy Volker's Ukraine mandate expanded - media

KYIV. May 14 (Interfax) - The mandate of the United States' Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations, Kurt Volker, has been extended and expanded, the chief of the Ukrainian service of the Voice of America, Myroslava Gongadze, said.

"Based on information from certain sources, Kurt Volker's mandate has been extended and expanded. He will have powers not only with regard to the situation in Donbas, but also broad powers on Ukraine as such," Gongadze said on the television channel 112 Ukraine on Sunday evening.

Volker announced on Twitter on May 12 that he was planning to visit eastern Ukraine at the beginning of this week.
