Putin invites EAEU leaders to FIFA 2018 world cup
SOCHI. May 14 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited all national leaders who attended a Supreme Eurasian Council meeting to the FIFA world cup in Russia.
Next month Russia is hosting a major sporting event, the world premiership in football, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said at an enlarged meeting of the Council.
"We are wishing Russia an excellent conduct [of the event] and victories to Russian footballers. We are confident that Russia will create an inimitable festive atmosphere and hold this important event, to which we hope to be invited, to highest standards," Nazarbayev told the attendees, bringing smiles on their faces.
Putin said: "You are all invited and I already said this. A big thank you for the kind wishes."
