Russia to give Indonesia loan to buy 11 Su-35 fighter jets - source
MOSCOW. May 15 (Interfax-AVN) - Indonesia will receive a commercial loan from Russia to fund the purchase of 11 Sukhoi Su-35 fighter jets, an informed source in the military-technical cooperation sector told Interfax.
"Indonesia and Russia intend to sign a loan agreement as part of their contract for the purchase of Su-35 fighter jets. All of the procedures needed for that are currently ongoing," the source said.
Russia will issue a commercial loan to Indonesia rather than a country-to-country one, he said.
"The contract has yet to undergo a certain procedure of internal approval by the Indonesian side," the source said.
Russian presidential aide for military-technical cooperation Vladimir Kozhin confirmed to Interfax on March 1 that a contract for the purchase of Russian Su-35 fighter jets had been signed with Indonesia.
