EAEU, SCO, ASEAN interaction would stimulate growth - Patrushev

BEIJING. May 22 (Interfax) - Interaction among the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the ASEAN could stimulate growth in Eurasian integration processes, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said at a meeting with SCO colleagues on Tuesday.

"The SCO could contribute to the effort towards combining national development strategies and multilateral integration initiatives. We believe that the combination of the potentials of the EAEU, the SCO, and the ASEAN, as well as China's One Belt, One Road project could create powerful new drivers of growth," he said.

This would make it possible to build a vast space of equal, fruitful, and mutually advantageous cooperation in Eurasia, Patrushev said.

"We see the Greater Eurasia initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin, which would meet the interests of all the members of our organization without exception, through this lens," he said.
