Poroshenko expects MH17 crash case to be passed to courts soon
KYIV. May 24 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko believes there is every reason to expect that Dutch prosecutors will pass on the cases against those responsible for downing Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 (MH17) over Donbas in 2014 to courts soon.
"There is every reason to hope that the prosecution of the Netherlands will be able to pass on the charges against those responsible for downing the aircraft to the courts very soon," Poroshenko wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the crash "presented more evidence that the air-defense system with which the plane was downed had been brought from the Russian Federation" earlier on Thursday, he wrote.
Ukraine will do all it can to make sure that the UN International Court of Justice properly assesses Russia's actions in the case initiated by Kyiv in the early 2017, Poroshenko wrote.
