Poroshenko, May discuss countering of 'Russian aggression'

KYIV. May 25 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and British Prime Minister Theresa May have discussed "methods of countering the Russian aggression" in a phone call, the press service of the Ukrainian president said in a statement.

"The leaders of the two countries focused on mobilizing the international community for countering the Kremlin's aggressive policy in the context of preparations for the G7 summit scheduled to take place in Canada on June 8 and 9," the statement said.

The sides also conferred on ways of broadening bilateral cooperation in security and defense issues.

Poroshenko thanked the United Kingdom for supporting Ukraine's reforms, the statement said.
