Moscow, UN special envoy for Syria maintaining constant ties - Russian Foreign Ministry

ST. PETERSBURG. May 25 (Interfax) - Moscow is being in a constant contact with UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura, Russian Presidential Special Envoy for the Middle East and African countries and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said.

"We are maintaining a constant contact with UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura and in Geneva, from where he is calling from time to time. He is paying quite regular visits to Moscow. We are always open for the dialogue, and De Mistura is reporting to the UN Security Council," Bogdanov told reporters on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

"This is why contacts with him [on settlement in Syria] are constantly under way," he said.

Bogdanov refrained from a response to the question about how rapidly one can expect the resumption of the intra-Syrian talks in Geneva.
