Lukashenko, China's Wang discuss int'l relations over tea with Belarusian jam

MINSK. May 29 (Interfax) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Chinese Vice-President Wang Qishan met over dinner at the Belarusian leader's countryside residence on Monday evening, Lukashenko's press service said.

"Alexander Lukashenko and Wang Qishan greeted each other warmly. The president noted that there are a number of issues that the sides will have to discuss. The Chinese vice-president, for his part, shared his impressions from his visit to the Great Stone China-Belarus Industrial Park and praised the talks he held with the Belarusian government highly," the press service said.

According to the press service, at Lukashenko's invitation, Wang drank water from a local spring.

"After the visit to the spring and a tour around the premises of the residence, Lukashenko and Wang Qishan discussed the situation around the world and international relations over a cup of Chinese tea with Belarusian jam at the tea house," the press service said.

The sides continued talking about relations between Belarus and China during dinner, at which traditional Belarusian dishes were served.

Wang's visit to Belarus began on May 27 and ends on May 29. It is his first official foreign visit in his capacity as Chinese vice-president.
