Police conducting additional examination of Babchenko murder site

KYIV. May 30 (Interfax) - Two groups of investigators and operatives are working at the site where journalist Arkady Babchenko was murdered, Kyiv police chief Andriy Kryschtenko said.

"An additional examination of the crime scene and the victim's belongings is being conducted, district police officers are visiting nearby apartments by going door to door, and operatives are taking recordings from surveillance cameras and dashboard cameras," the Kyiv police communication department quoted Kryschtenko as saying on Wednesday.

Besides, a number of expert evaluations will be ordered in the criminal case.

"A number of expert evaluations will be ordered in the criminal proceedings: investigators have already prepared relevant requests for lawsuits when ordering, in particular, forensic and ballistic tests," Kryschtenko said.

Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko was shot dead in Kyiv on May 29.

Kyiv police believe that professional activity is the first most likely reason behind the death of Babchenko, Kyiv police chief Andriy Kryschtenko said.
