Putin, Bulgarian PM agree to draft agreement on protecting memorials to Soviet soldiers

MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - Russia and Bulgaria will conclude a special agreement on cooperation to maintain and protect Bulgarian memorials to Soviet soldiers.

"We agreed that a special agreement on cooperation in maintaining and protecting burial sites will be drafted," Russian President Vladimir Putin said after talks with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov on Wednesday.

He expressed gratitude for the care given to military memorials on the Bulgarian soil, where tens of thousands of Soviet soldiers are buried.
