Kim Jong Un asks Lavrov to convey 'warm greetings' to Putin

PYONGYANG. May 31 (Interfax) - North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has asked Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to convey his warm greetings to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"When you return, convey my warm greetings to President Putin and your people, warm friendly greetings," the North Korean leader told Lavrov after their meeting in Pyongyang on Thursday.

"You are wonderful friends to us, and I made time specially [for the meeting with Lavrov], despite being busy," Kim Jong Un told the Russian minister.

"We appreciate that," Lavrov said.

Discussing his visit to Pyongyang, he said that "friends' invitations are not declined."
