Abu Dhabi Crown Prince intends to discuss with Putin measures to ensure wellbeing of Middle East

MOSCOW. June 1 (Interfax) - Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan is hoping to discuss with Russian President Vladimir Putin measures to ensure a good future in the Middle East.

"It is a really good opportunity for us to meet with you to strengthen bilateral relations. We consider that extremely important and we believe and hope that we will continue strengthening [the relations] with you," he said during a meeting with the Russian president.

Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan spoke about the strengthening of mutual trade turnover since the previous meeting and said he hopes for further progress on this track. He said he believes cooperation should increase with the panned signing of a declaration on strategic partnership.

"Indeed, like you said, a lot of events have happened since the last meeting in the Middle East region. The UAE wants to work with the entire global community, with all our friends on ensuring a good future for our region," the crown prince said.

He said he hopes for a detailed discussion of joint actions in this direction.
