LPR sees 5, Kyiv 27 ceasefire violations in Donbas in past 24 hours
LUHANSK/KYIV. June 4 (Interfax) - The self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) has seen five attacks by the Ukrainian army in the past 24 hours, the LPR militia told Interfax on Monday.
"The Ukrainian army breached the truce five times over the day by use of 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers, and heavy firearms," the militia said.
The army attacked the vicinity of Kalynove, Pryshyb, Lozove, and Kalynivka, it said.
"No damage was done. There were neither civilian nor military casualties," the militia said.
For its part, the press center of the Ukrainian Joint Forces reported 27 attacks on Ukrainian army positions over the day.
"Hostilities were most intense near Avdiivka, Novotroitske, Hnutove, and Lybidinske," the press center wrote on Facebook.
Heavy weapons - 122mm artillery and 120mm and 82mm mortars - were fired in four cases. The enemy attacked Talakivka at about 9 p.m. on Sunday, the press service said.
The Ukrainian forces had no casualties, while the enemy lost a man, the press service said.
"The situation on the contact line did not change on June 4. The enemy fired 82mm mortars near Zaitseve at about 4:30 a.m.; the provocation was properly responded to," the press center said.
