DPRK seeking to create detente, economic development climate - Pyongyang rep

MOSCOW. June 4 (Interfax) - The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) is seeking to create an international atmosphere that would help achieve peace on the Korean peninsula and foster the development of the North Korea's socialist economy, a member of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, who is leading the North Korean delegation at an interparliamentary forum in Moscow, said.

"We aim to ensure an international atmosphere that would foster the development of our country and an attainment of peace and stability on the Korean peninsula," the official said at the forum on Monday.

"We are developing a climate of detente and peace on the Korean peninsula, and this marks a dramatic change in current politics, this will enable us to realize the aspirations of our chairman Kim Jong-un. And we strive for simultaneous development of our socialist economy," the North Korean parliamentarian said.
