Agricultural organizations boost grain sales 47% to 4.6 mln tonnes in April - Rosstat

MOSCOW. June 4 (Interfax) - Russian agricultural organizations sold 4.6 million tonnes of grain in April 2018, 47% more year-on-year, Rosstat reported on Monday.

Sales in January-April were up 43.2% to 17.2 million tonnes.

Agricultural producers sold 1 million tonnes of cattle and poultry (live weight) in April, 6.6% more than in April 2017. Cattle and poultry rose 7.7% in 4M to 3.7 million tonnes.

Sale of milk increased 4.35 to 1.3 million tonnes in April and egg sales declined 0.7% to 2.6 billion units. In 4M, milk sales rose 4.8% to 5 million tonnes and egg sales were up 2.3% to 10.7 billion units.
