Deputy minister of emergency situations Chupriyan appointed as first deputy minister

MOSCOW. June 4 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Internal Service Col. Gen. Alexander Chupriyan as First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations.

A presidential decree to that effect was posted on the official legal information portal.

Chupriyan previously served as deputy head of the ministry.

Chupriyan was deputy minister of emergency situations since 2006. He was in charge of fire protection.
